Big Compliments in the Big Apple
We have set a new all-time high today…six hours straight of compliments! Three times what we are used to so as you can imagine it was quite the Wednesday. Our day started with some breakfast at 7:30 immediately followed by…you guessed it…compliments (and lots of them).
Our first stop in the big apple was Times Square near a fairly busy subway station. Given it was pretty early and everyone was on their way to work the reactions were still pretty good. Most people simply continued on their way but as always, there were plenty of smiles to go around.
We moseyed around throwing compliments left and right to people waiting in line for Broadway tickets and to those who were enjoying a nice sit outside. After a while of wandering we ventured on to Central Park where our compliment spree continued. We ran into two awesome magicians, one of which, after making a purple balloon appear out of nowhere managed to somehow place Cam’s cell phone inside of it. How? Magic!
Next up on our location list was Brooklyn Bridge. It was our first time walking on the bridge and let me tell you, it’s awesome! The bridge was a pretty good spot to give compliments because of the constant flow of people from either direction. In the end, after six hours of compliments we decided to call it a day. Our compliments were very well received thus far and we hope the rest of our stay here is just as radical! As always, I hope you have a great day and thanks for reading!
P.S. Hi Mom!!!!!

For real guys, you are amazing and I love what you do! It brings a smile to my face every time I read the blogs. I just called Cam, and I need your number Brett to tell you how amazing you kidz are. I love the smiles you bring to everyone, as well as myself. Wish I was still at Purdue to come by everyday and not just compliment, but huge you guys. You guys rock!
I just heard about you guys and the Brightside tour, and I think it's a wonderful idea. A quick compliment can really brighten someone's day, so look at all the good vibes you're spreading and all the smiles you've brought to peoples' faces. Thanks for being you! I just wish you were coming to Florida, too!
Here's a Virtual High Five for you!
great inspiration
I am going to take your lead and try to dish out compliments daily when I return to work in a few weeks. I think my students would benefit from it just in case they don't hear it at home. I try to do this anyways but I am going to try harder to do more. Thank you for bringing this idea to the world.
Good luck and wish you were coming our way. Would love to meet you!
You guys are awesome. I have
You guys are awesome. I have been making a conscious effort to be more complimentary to people I encounter (strangers and friends) and have found it brightens my day as well as theirs. We can all learn from you guys.
Looking Good, Guys!
Can't wait to see the 2 of you on Fox!
Keep 'em smiling! Love, Tutu
Made our Day!
I was in the city yesterday with my daughter and my sister. We had a wonderful day and as we were headed to Penn Station to catch our trains home - there you were...handing out compliments and high fives. Cam complimented me on my pink pants - I complimented him on his gray polo and we ended with a high five! Thanks for the perfect ending to a perfect day! Keep spreading the smiles!
Wow!
Just reading about you guys makes me smile! What a fun thing to do. I am glad you are being recognized for this project! I'm sure you never thought it would get this big, but what a way to add a little sunshine to people's lives. Keep up the good work!
Great job! I saw you on the
Great job! I saw you on the news today and I think what your doing is really good. Just one little compliment can really help someone and turn there frown upside down. Keep up the good work!
Lovin' this idea.
Hi, I'm just now hearing about you guys and I think it's amazing what you're doing. I literally just watched you live on the news. You two are brilliant and-in my opinion-brave for doing this. I hope you guys have a great time on your trip and I hope you receive some compliments back. Also, good luck with your classes when you get back to them! <3
This is awesome, buddy!
Having been a friend of yours for two years I must say it is amazing how much I've seen this project grow! What started out as some crazy shenanigan outside has turned into something greater. Congrats, Brett, on your complimenting success!
